Algerian Qatari Steel is urgently hiring a QHSE Manager for its steel plant operations in Algeria. If you are an experienced professional with expertise in Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) management, this is an excellent opportunity to join a leading steel manufacturer.

Position: QHSE Manager

Job Identification:

  • Reporting To: General Manager and Deputy General Manager

Requirements:

  • Engineering degree, Master’s, or Doctorate.
  • Professional training in ISO, NFPA, NEBOSH, IOSH, etc.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a QHSE Manager.
  • Languages: Fluency in French or Arabic is mandatory along with technical English.
  • Expertise in national HSE legislation, QHSE standards, risk analysis, and team management.

Structure & Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the health and safety of personnel.
  • Protect production unit equipment and assets.
  • Promote QHSE culture and implement policies according to applicable norms and regulations.
  • Supervise the Prevention Department, Medical Service, Intervention Department, and Environmental Service.
  • Collaborate with AQS departments and external entities related to QHSE activities.

Primary Mission & Responsibilities

  • Implement and formalize a QHSE management system.
  • Lead risk assessment and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure supplier and subcontractor compliance with QHSE standards.
  • Monitor legislation and safety regulations to prevent accidents and occupational diseases.

Challenges & Specificities

  • Overcome lack of QHSE culture in the organization.
  • Develop cooperation to integrate QHSE as an essential part of the company’s operations.
