Hot Kitchen Equipment Technician
Hot Kitchen Equipment Technicians will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of commercial cooking equipment.
The work may involve:
- Gas fryers, burners, grills and ovens
- Combi ovens and conveyor ovens
- Flat-top grills and salamanders
- Hot-holding equipment
- Sandwich makers and holding cabinets
- Coffee machines
- Gas valves and ignition systems
- Thermostats, burners and temperature controls
- Installation, testing and commissioning
- Emergency repairs
Experience with equipment such as Henny Penny fryers, Rational ovens, Lincoln ovens, Nuova Simonelli coffee machines, flat-top grills, gas burners, sandwich makers and commercial cooking equipment is preferred.
Cold Kitchen Equipment Technician
Cold Kitchen Equipment Technicians will handle installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of commercial refrigeration systems.
Experience with the following equipment is useful:
- Cold rooms
- Commercial freezers
- Chillers
- Ice machines
- Refrigerated counters
- Commercial refrigeration systems
Job Requirements
Candidates should have a Diploma, Certificate or technical training in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Maintenance, Electromechanical or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial kitchen equipment maintenance is required.
Applicants should have strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills and be able to read technical manuals and wiring diagrams. Experience with gas equipment is particularly important for Hot Kitchen Equipment Technician positions.
Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, bakery, café, QSR or central kitchen environment will be an advantage.
Candidates should also be comfortable working under pressure and responding to equipment breakdowns.
Salary and Benefits
The advertised salary package is:
USD 1,200 – 1,500 per month
The salary will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
