Job Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for operating and programming CNC lathe machines and ensuring that components are produced accurately and safely.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and loading raw materials such as bars and slugs into the CNC machine.
- Installing and selecting suitable cutting tools, carbide inserts, drills and other tooling.
- Loading and checking CNC programs using G-code and M-code.
- Performing dry runs before starting the actual machining process.
- Operating CNC lathe machines according to production requirements.
- Monitoring machining operations and making necessary adjustments.
- Adjusting tool offsets, feed rates and cutting parameters when required.
- Checking finished components for dimensional accuracy.
- Using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers and bore gauges.
- Ensuring finished parts meet technical drawings and required tolerances.
- Following workplace safety and machine operating procedures.
- Maintaining proper machine and work-area conditions.
Experience Required
Candidates should have practical experience in CNC lathe operation and programming. Experience in steel and metal rolling-related work will be relevant for this position.
Applicants should be comfortable reading technical drawings, setting cutting tools, checking dimensions and making basic machining adjustments. Knowledge of CNC programming, including G-code and M-code, is also important.
